Graduate development at Twoday – from the Nordic Graduate Gathering at Visma Consulting to three Danish graduate programmes

The collaboration on developing graduates and consultants spans two generations of the company: first a Nordic Graduate Gathering when the company was Visma Consulting, and later three Danish graduate programmes after it had become Twoday. It is the same client relationship – but two distinct programmes.

A continuing graduate-development relationship

New graduates and consultants need to settle quickly into a consultant role in which personal leadership, collaboration and an understanding of the client's needs matter as much as professional expertise. That has been the common thread of the collaboration – first at Visma Consulting and later at Twoday.

The Nordic Graduate Gathering at Visma Consulting

When the company was Visma Consulting, Cronquist Consult delivered a Nordic Graduate Gathering for approx. 30 graduates from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland over two consecutive workshop days in an international, Nordic format.

The overall themes were “Visma's Company Values – concerning the role as a good consultant” and “Communication Skills”. The programme combined professional input, practical exercises, and reflection and dialogue on values, the consultant role and communication.

Continued graduate development at Twoday

Later – after the company had become Twoday – the collaboration continued with three Danish graduate programmes. Each programme had approx. 30 participants and consisted of three full module and workshop days, and all three programmes followed the same overall structure.

The scale was therefore three programmes, each with approx. 30 participants and three module days – not a single combined programme.

From me to us to the customer and the business

The Twoday programmes were built as a three-step journey: ME → US → THE CUSTOMER / THE BUSINESS (in Danish: MIG → OS → KUNDEN / FORRETNINGEN). The progression describes the structure of these particular graduate programmes – from each person's personal leadership, through collaboration in the team, to an understanding of the customer and the business.

M1 – Personal leadership

The transition from talent to graduate: personality types with JTI, an outdoor exercise, work on “The perfect consultant”, dilemmas and decision-making, and Success Analysis with participants' High Performance Pattern (HPP).

M2 – Teamwork & communication

Communication and communication tools, including the Z-model, practical exercises and collaboration, Shared High Team Standards and simulations of situations between client and consultant.

M3 – Customer needs & trust

Customer needs and trust, value proposition and product-market fit, a customer visit and customer dialogue, EFU and value, BALA, cases and a business simulation – concluding with an evaluation and a shared dinner.

Practical learning

Across the programmes, input and theory were combined with practical exercises, reflection, teamwork, outdoor exercises, customer situations, business understanding and presentations – so participants worked on applying what they learned, not just hearing about it. This is Cronquist Consult's Action Learning approach, used as the learning method within the programmes.

In the client's own words

Following the Nordic Graduate Gathering, Sabrina Hansen, HR Business Partner at Visma Consulting, described the collaboration and its value as follows. Her statement also provides strong evidence of the relationship and approach to graduate development that later continued at Twoday.

The statement concerns the Nordic Graduate Gathering; the assessments in it are the client's own.

“The workshop for 30 graduates at Visma Consulting's Nordic Graduate Gathering ran over 2 days, and the overall themes were “Visma's Company Values – concerning the role as a good consultant” and “Communication Skills”. Mads Cronquist had put together an excellent programme for the 2 days. With high engagement and a relevant and appropriate number of exercises, the 30 graduates had an instructive, inspiring and exciting 2-day workshop. Mads has very extensive knowledge of the subjects, and through the practical exercises and dialogue about their purpose, he gave all the graduates great insight into working as a values-based consultant and into the difficult discipline of communication. The evaluation of the workshop speaks for itself: it was very high, and the general feedback from our graduates was that they had gained a great many eye-openers as well as greater insight into themselves and into being a consultant. As a client, I warmly recommend Mads Cronquist. Throughout the lead-up to the workshop, I felt in safe hands with regard to Mads' “delivery”. He delivers what has been agreed at the agreed time. He is a good sparring partner and provides good input and feedback. He is also very good at following up and being available. He quickly managed to gain a thorough understanding of our “business” and of the need the workshop was to address. I give Mads Cronquist my warmest recommendations.”

What the case demonstrates

The case shows how graduate development can connect the individual, the team and the customer and business – drawing on experience with both Nordic, international groups and Danish programmes, with personality and personal leadership, teamwork, communication, customer understanding and business understanding as recurring themes.
