JTI Personality Assessment – a shared language for people and teams

JTI is a type indicator used to develop individuals and teams. It is a safe starting point because it is not a pass/fail test; it creates curiosity, mutual understanding and a language for differences.

What JTI is

JTI is a modernised version of MBTI, adapted to Nordic culture and based on Jung's type theory. It describes psychological preferences — what we tend to choose when we are free of external expectations and inner pressure.

The model works with four dimensions of personality. The preferences combine into a type code with 16 possible outcomes.

The dominant function — and the others

Type theory also describes the mental function we most often prefer to use: our favourite tool. Other functions are less natural and often require more energy. This helps people understand both their strengths and the situations that are more demanding.

Where we use JTI

  • Leadership, team, organisational and personal development.
  • Career counselling and coaching.
  • Teaching, communication and conflict handling.
  • Training effective decision processes in teams.

How the profile is used

Cronquist Consult is certified in the use of JTI. The profile can be completed in paper form or online with personal feedback. Used well, it supports greater self-insight, mutual understanding and better communication.

Frequently asked questions

Is JTI a test you can fail?
No. JTI is a type indicator, not a pass/fail test. There are no right or wrong answers, which makes it a good starting point for development work.

Should JTI be part of your programme?

Tell us whether it concerns one person, a team or a whole leadership group. We will come back with a proposal.
