The Way We Work – from induction and values to everyday behaviour
The Way We Work is training for companies and organisations that want induction, culture and values to become something employees can see, practise and use in everyday work — not just read about.
Induction and onboarding
New employees need to learn more than systems and tasks. They also need to understand how people work together in your particular organisation. The Way We Work is used as part of induction programmes, so that people are integrated into the organisation through shared experience rather than presentations alone.
Culture and values
Values only become real when they can be recognised in behaviour. The programme starts from the organisation's own values and culture and makes them concrete: what does it look like when we work this way — and what does it look like when we don't?
From values to observable behaviour
At the heart of The Way We Work is seeing the values in action. Participants solve tasks together in groups, and what happened is then linked to the values and behaviour the organisation wants — so the values become observable behaviour in teams that deliver to customers and colleagues.
Practical learning — outdoor action learning
The programme is built on action learning, often outdoors. A typical session is a day in the forest of around 8 hours for groups of about 10 people, with tasks that require cooperation, communication and shared decisions.
Reflection and application in everyday work
The experience is only the start. After each task the groups reflect on what worked and what they will take back to work. The aim is for participants to turn it into specific behaviour in their everyday work.
Part of an academy or organisational development
The Way We Work can stand alone or form part of a wider academy or organisational-development programme. At e-conomic, The Way We Work was requested as an induction programme and part of a longer collaboration on courses and leadership development, and at Christiansen & Essenbæk three teams took part in The Way We Work as part of the company's leadership development programme. The programme has been booked repeatedly.
