Leadership course
Leadership in practice – a modular programme for middle-management teams
Leadership in practice is a modular development programme for middle-management teams, typically of 8–12 people. It is an intensive, tightly packed leadership training programme that opens with a hands-on 30-hour residential course, including improvised overnight stays under the stars — outdoor action learning from the very first hour.
Head, Hands and Heart at the core
The programme offers something for the head, something for the hands and something for the heart — the three H's that form the backbone of the leadership training we have delivered in a number of Danish companies.
Both the practical experience and the underlying theory are in place: the programme builds on more than 20 years of experience with leadership development, gained under some of the most demanding conditions and in successful organisations.
How the programme is structured
- 1Module 1 — residentialLeadership in practice as a 30-hour residential course with hands-on tasks and nights spent outdoors.
- 2Module 2 — process managementManaging processes and tasks, including work with a simulator.
- 3Module 3 — customer orientationA deep dive into how customers experience management's decisions.
- 4Module 4 — personal impactPersonal leadership, presence and impact, and one's own blind spots.
What participants work on along the way
- A buddy system, in which two leaders follow and challenge each other throughout the programme.
- Assignments between modules, carried out in the participant's own department.
- Coaching alongside the modules.
- Feedback from both employees and senior management on the new behaviour.
Can be extended as needed
The modules can be extended with finance training for non-financial managers and with the particularly demanding 3½-day programme we call execution. The programme can also be delivered abroad through OLTC, where conditions are tougher and the learning correspondingly sharper.
