Team building

Team building with a purpose

Team building is not an event to get through. For us, it is an experience designed to change something afterwards: experience leads to reflection, reflection to learning, learning to new behaviour — and new behaviour to better performance in everyday work.

From experience to performance

  1. 1ExperienceParticipants solve tasks together, free from everyday routines and hierarchy.
  2. 2ReflectionWe pause and look at what actually happened in the group — not just who won.
  3. 3LearningPatterns are given names: how do we make decisions, who do we listen to, where do we lose time?
  4. 4BehaviourParticipants agree specifically what they will do differently next week.
  5. 5PerformanceCollaboration becomes noticeably faster, because the patterns are known and talked about.

Why nature works so well

Nature is a strong setting for team building. Participants are released from everyday routines and hierarchy and have room to see themselves and each other in new contexts.

Many senses are activated at once, and it costs nothing to fail while experimenting with different solutions. At the same time, social cohesion develops through play and creativity.

Formats and group sizes

  • From small groups of 6 people to several hundred participants.
  • Half a day, a full day or several days with overnight stays.
  • Indoors, outdoors or combined — including semi-outdoor settings such as a cabin or shelter.
  • Can be delivered anywhere in Denmark, including in and around Copenhagen and North Zealand.
  • Our own 50-person tipi in Bøgeskoven on Stevns, 100 metres from the sea, next to the forest cabin.

Exercises and instructors

We have a very large catalogue of exercises, and you help choose what happens on the day. Well-trained instructors are always present and safety is in order, so the day is both enjoyable and instructive. Everyone can take part in the exercises.

After a day in nature there is warmth by the fire in the tipi, food and time together with colleagues — and that part is also part of the learning.

Food team building

Over many years, Outfitter Kompagniet has delivered relaxed and enjoyable food team building together with clients, usually as part of a larger programme — theme days, workshops or seminars. The food is not decoration on the day; it is the task everyone solves together.

Groups are typically from 6 people upwards, and a session can last from a few hours to several days with overnight stays. It works well combined with classic team-building exercises, so the day also becomes an opportunity to look at how the group actually collaborates under time pressure.

We bring portable equipment — from a giant grill and a metre-wide wok to Weber grills, fire pits and complete kitchen kit — so everyone has something to do. We take care of practical arrangements, shopping, preparation, delivery on the day and clearing up.

  • Pure outdoor adventure with food cooked over the fire, for example in our tipi or around shelters.
  • A semi-outdoor version in a cabin, scout-style.
  • A hired professional venue, cookery-school style, with a particular theme.
  • A large kitchen in town with dining space and service.

Rappelling and white-water rafting

Rappelling and white-water rafting can form part of a tailored experiential and team programme when the location and format suit the group. As short activities they create a shared experience in which trust, communication and safety become tangible — and there is always reflection afterwards.

Which activities are possible depends on the location, season and the make-up of the group, so we agree this as part of the proposal. When they are part of intensive leadership training over several days, they are delivered through OLTC.

Team building for organisations — not an events company

We do not provide entertainment without a purpose. Activities are chosen because they expose something the team needs to get better at, and there is always a reflection element. If collaboration needs to develop over a longer period, team development is the right approach — team building is the start, not the whole answer.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can take part in team building?
From small groups of six people to several hundred participants. We adapt exercises and the number of instructors to the size of the group.
Can team building take place in Copenhagen?
Yes. Activities can be delivered anywhere in Denmark, including the capital region, North Zealand and the rest of Zealand — and in our own setting in Bøgeskoven on Stevns.
What is the difference between team building and team development?
Team building is the experience-based activity that opens up collaboration. Team development is the longer process in which the team's performance and collaboration are developed systematically over time.
Can we combine team building with food?
Yes. Food team building is one of our most requested formats and can be combined with classic team-building exercises.
