Leadership teams
From management group to high-performing leadership team
A management group is not automatically a team. We work with the conditions that decide whether the leadership team delivers: trust, alignment, accountability, decision power, execution and performance.
The six areas we work through
- 1TrustCan you say the difficult thing to each other without it costing the relationship?
- 2AlignmentDo you agree on what matters most right now and in what order?
- 3AccountabilityDo you hold each other to agreements, also when the person is a peer?
- 4Decision powerAre decisions made, or postponed to the next meeting?
- 5ExecutionDo decisions reach the organisation, or stop in the meeting room?
- 6PerformanceCan you see in results and behaviour that the leadership team makes a difference?
Typical signs that there is work to do
- Decisions are reopened outside the meeting.
- Disagreement becomes politeness in the room and criticism elsewhere.
- Everyone agrees on the strategy, but departments pull in different directions.
- Leaders compete for resources instead of prioritising together.
How we work with the team
We start with conversations with each leader so we understand the picture from the inside. We then work with the group in a seminar format, combining structured discussion with assignments where the group has to deliver under time pressure. The patterns often become visible in the tasks, not in talking about the tasks.
The process does not end with minutes from a meeting. We agree a few concrete changes in how the group meets, decides and follows up — and return to see whether they hold.
Shall we look at your leadership team?
Tell us briefly how many you are and what gets in the way. We will come back with a proposal.
